Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

Is it possible to have my x husband surprised drug tested? I just found out he was on drugs and leaving my children home alone. He was recently violent with me and I was just granted a tpo but was told I could not get temporary custody of the children. We have a court date as he filed papers against me for full custody and child support to avoid paying the court ordered child support he has never paid to me. I would like to have him drug tested off guard to back up me keeping the kids from him while we are waiting for the July 13 court date. He has been convicted of domestic violence against me but has not hurt the children. He has a very short fuse and the crystal meth he has been doing has increased his violent behaviour. What can I do to protect my children?

Thank you in advance.

Yes. At the hearing, present what evidence you have, and request drug testing (be prepared for the same request to be made of you). Family court and TPO judges are quite used to "surprise" requests for drug tests, and typically will require it to be done within the next several hours after the hearing.
