Your remedy is to sue the guy who took your money for a stolen car. If you are very lucky the guy who sold you the stolen car is honest, was a victim just like you, has assets, and is good for the judgment you get against him. On the other hand, if the guy who sold you the stolen car is a crook, he probably doesn't have money lying around where it can be collected by a lawyer. An attorney taking your case would want to be paid upfront and would have to advise you that things don't look real hopeful unless you find that the guy who sold you the car has assets.
