Legal Question in Immigration Law in Nevada
Born in Canada - NV Resident - Name Change
I was born in Edmonton Canada and am a Resident Alien of the US. I live in Las Vegas. I want to use a online name change kit to change my middle name. I am wondering if I can use one of these generic kits as I was not born in the US? Are there any special considerations? Do I need a different form?

Re: Born in Canada - NV Resident - Name Change
Regardless of where you were born, you must comply with certain procedural formalties and have your name officially changed by filing at the Court. Specifically, Clark County Family Court if you reside in Las Vegas. Also, there must be publication of the name change for three weeks. Please contact either the self-help center at family court or seek out professional legal advice.
