Legal Question in Immigration Law in Nevada

Immigration I-9 Form

If an individual checks either the Permanent Resident Alien box or the "authorized to work in the U.S. until" box, and provides documentation of a social security card and a driver's license, doesn't the employer have to see the resident alien card or the authorization card? Thank you!
