Legal Question in Immigration Law in Nevada
I am sponsoring my brother, however I had to file BK. Would this affect the petition? I have enough income but the mortgage bank play dirty on us.

Filing a bankruptcy will not affect the contractual obligations of the I-864, Affidavit of Support Under Section 213A of the Act. You must make certain that you meet the low income cut off requirements for being a sponsor by consulting with an experienced immigration attorney. Provided you meet the LICO requirements, a bankruptcy should not affect your sponsorship.
