Your rights are somewhat limited. First, you might be able to file a lawsuit against the person making untrue statements; however, you'll have to wait until you've actually been damaged by the disparaging and untrue statements. Second, you may be able to terminate your employment for cause, allowing you to file for unemployment benefits; however, it will be your burden of proof that you actually had a legitimate cause for terminating your employment, and "cause" is not to be taken in the vernacular sense, but rather the industrial sense. Third, you could, and probably should, start sending our resumes in hopes of securing work for someone else. Due the the lack of facts in your inquiry, it would be difficult to ascertain whether you might have additional rights that have been brought into issue; thus, this is not an exhaustive list of all your rights, of course. Good luck.
