can you file a lawsuit if someone sends damaging emails that arent 100% true to your employer to try to get you fired?

Yes, in general, you can file a lawsuit in almost every situation where someone has damaged you or is attempting to damage you; however, whether filing a lawsuit will be in your best interest from an economical standpoint is a different question.
