Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Nevada

Greedy Landlord?

My wife and I had a somewhat lease option to buy from our ex-landlord Our credit was bad to begin and he was told Unfortunately after 1.5 yrs we declared chpt 7 Our landlord immediately put the house on the market 3 days after we told him we were going to file although the contract still had 4 months We gave him $5000 down with no other deposits listed It is stated in the lame contract it is not refundable, but my wife and I can change whatever we want to the house and property

I caused damage to the drywall, but I asked some professional friends how to repair it, and fixed it myself (have pictures)as well as many other items.

the landlord is taking us to small claims court for $2800 for damages that he claims he had to fix. We left a brand new hot water heater, grass in the back yard and several trees, as well as other minor improvements. The landlord even pulled me off the side of road and threatened me to pay him $1200 (filed police report)

Please help us with some advice. I was thinking of trying to claim the contract was too messed up because of the lack of deposit amounts. I mean how much money should the guy get our $5000 down plus he made $50,000 profit after he sold it

Please help confused in NV
