Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Nevada
ratioactive lease
my lease was up in july 2006 i did not get notice of renewal,so i thought the landlord was giving me the option of living there month to month.(he gave me the option once before). In the beginning of sept. I recived a letter from the landlord dated
Aug 28, but written as if it was before july telling how my lease is going to be up and that i had the option of signing a new lease or month to month.I called the office and told them i would sign another lease starting oct 1 since i just recieved the letter and i paid sept rent.when i recieved the new lease it was again dated as of july 1 and asking me to pay the increase as of july 1. can a landlord give you a ratioactive lease in sept. and written as of july 1 also he gave me a year lease that will expire july 1.some how i feel that Im loosing 3 months

Re: ratioactive lease
Yes a lease can be signed with an effective start date before signature. Of course you don't have to sign it.
