Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Nevada

Wanting out of a lease due to problems w/ property
We would like to break our lease from the property we are renting now, due to being robbed (broad daylight), child abduction in the area (down the street) We have 3 small children.. Wish to move to gated more secure area.. Lease company (LL) will not budge on our plea.. Please help us! We do not feel safe in our house, and want out! The owner will not let us modify the property (alarm, ceiling fans, swingset, ect..)to make it more family friendly/safe!
Please respond.. We are willing to forfit our depoists, but not to pay out the remainder of the lease, that is obserd! Are we on the same page??
