Why won't my lawyer call me back ..

Hello, I was in a car accident in 2000, and i was being treated for neck and back , i was released from the dr.'s office in march , paper work submitted in april , this is july and i've been trying to contact my lawyer and he won't call me back ,, i don't want to talk to his secretary's anymore . i want to talk to the person i have hired , not his law firm .. what do i do ?? can you please help me thank you .

There is no reason to accept bad service from your attorney. You can give your attorney one last chance by letting him know that if he doesn't respond to you that you will seek other counsel. If you are still dissatisfied you can seek other counsel. You will want to seek other counsel well before the statute of limitations runs as other counsel will be hesitant to become involved in the case if it is too close to the running of the statute of limitations. New Lawyer

Usually, when your lawyer does not return your phone calls it is because she is too busy or unable to properly handle your case. If you have directed the lawyer's staff to have the lawyer call you within 2 business days and the lawyer does not call, it is time to find another counsel. Your new lawyer will help you terminate the first lawyer's services.
