Legal Question in Personal Injury in Nevada

Question.

On May 8th 2008 while I was residing in Nevada I was assaulted while asleep during a burglary. The perpatrator was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and burglary. What is the time limit to file a lawsuit and what kind of lawyer would be best for this kind of case and how would I go about it?

Re: Question.

The statute of limitations is 2 years. Of course, if the perpetrator was caught you can sue him but that is probably a waste of time.

From the limited facts you have provided I cannot tell if you might have an inadequate security claim. You can call me or e-mail me at [email protected] with more facts if you like. Basically, though, to have an inadequate security claim there has to be a third person, such as a hotel, that a had a duty to you and was negligent.

Re: Question.

2 year statute of limitations on civil battery. You need an attorney who will do intentional torts.
