Legal Question in Personal Injury in Nevada

getting sued for car accident

My wife was at a red light and thought the person in front of her had started moving and started to go and bumped their bumper. there was not even a scratch on their bumper, and the insurance didn't think it even need to be replaced. today we got a call from the insurance company saying we were going to get served and to let them know when we get it. They said it was for a lot of money without specifics. My question is first do the insurance companies ever not settle? Second, we only have the state minimum of insurance in nevada which is 15,000/30,000, if it does turn out we lose and have to pay more then the 15,000 what would happen if we dont pay? My wife is not working and doesnt have an income, Can I be sued as well since i am on the policy?

Re: getting sued for car accident

Demand that your insurance company settle the case within your insurance policy limits. You may want to get an attorney to monitor the insurance companies attorney to make sure your interest protected.
