Purchase of real estate with judgment attached
We want to purchase a commercial building that is part of a living trust. The individuals (individually and as trustees of the living trust) who own the building have a judgment against them which shows up on the building title search. The judgment is for substantially more than the building is worth. Can we purchase this building? If so, what happens to the judgment?

You can purchase the building but escrow should pay off the judgment.
