Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Nevada

I purchased a home on my own. Since then I have married, causing a name change. How do I change the deed to reflect my new legal name? This is in Nevada and I currently have a mortgage.

There is no legal reason to change the name on title but if you would like to, just deed the property to yourself from you in your maiden name to you in your married name. You may also want to put as the grantee, "an unmarried woman" if you do not want to have your husband claim ownership by the deed. He does have a right to some of the property under community property law.

If you would like an appoint, you may email at [email protected]. I would prepare and file the deed for a nominal fee. You may also want to consider a living trust.
