Quitcalim

My Ex-wife had me sign a quitclaim deed and had it recorded. She lied about what it was and i found out later.She needed it notarized, right? Do I have recorse if it was notarized and i was not present?

Let me see if I can flesh out Mr. Selik's response just a bit.

Deeds that transfer an interest in real property should be notarized. That means a notary public watches you sign it and signs their own affidavit memorializing that you are who you said you are and that they watched you sign the document.

Your claim is against the notary. Notaries are registered with the State and have to carry a bond to protect people when they make an error. If an error was made (if you signed the quitclaim but NOT witnessed by the notary who acknowledged your signature) then yes, you have a claim.
