Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Nevada

Real estate law

I was told in a letterform as well as in written form to put a stop payment on my rent check a make a new check payable to the ex-wife. I had originally entered into a lease agreement with the husband, but the ex-wife said she owns the property, not her ex, This I did. I then received a 5-day pay or quit from the ex-husband charging me for dishonor check, late fees, and the 5-day notice.

I spoke with both parties and the ex-husband said to send him the check, this I did. Should I be caught up in a divorce scenario?

Re: Real estate law

I would not write a check to either one of them without judicial clarification. You can file an Affidavit in response to a 5 Fay Notice To Pay Rent Or Quit. Then you will have a hearing before a Justice Of The Peace and he/she will tell you who to pay.
