Victim of federal crime
I was a victim of a federal crime in a ponzi scheme investment where 3 people were found guilty in federal court and sent to jail. Am I able to write off the amount that was awarded in restitution to me seeing as the offenders are in jail and will not be able to provide actual restitution?
