Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Nevada

I have been contcted by a private investigator in regards to needing information from me concerning my deceased husband who was killed in a motrocycle accident by a school bus driver it happened in 2003 & my husband & i were seperated at the time & until just now had no idea that he had been killed. i have looked up cases that have been filed by his mother & am a little afraid to provide the investigator the information that they have requested for fear that i could be gatting myself into a situation that is not good. while talking to the investigator she informed me that it has to do with insurance money but aside from that she will not give me any other info. this is taking place in a court in las vegas & everything that i have found regarding the cases states the they have been closed. is there any way that i can obtain info from them with out having to have an attorney for myself & if so how do i. i now reside in utah but the case is in nevada

You say you and your husband were separated. I presume that means you were still legally married. Very possibly, you are entitled to part of any settlement as you would be what is called an intestate heir of his estate. I am just speculating, but it is possible that his mother was made personal representative of his estate and that his estate has a settlement with the insurance company.
