Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Nevada

How to get a copy of a family member's will.

I have just learned of my second cousin's passing, January 1. I believe I was in her will and am not sure how to get a copy of it to find out. She lived in Las Vegas, Nevada. I have moved since I last spoke to her and I doubt I could be traced very easily. Thank you for any help you can give me in getting a copy of it.

You should contact the county clerk in the courthouse within the county where your aunt passed away. Once you have a case number you can request a copy of the will. Wills that are being probated are public record. Therefore, anyone can obtain a copy of a will.

You should check the county clerk's office to see if the will was filed. If it has not been filed, then you need to talk to who may have cleaned out your aunt's residence.
