My ex-husband has willed the house and property, that we now live in, to me----will I have to pay inheiritance tax??

The laws regarding inheritance tax (federal, only ... Nevada has none) are currently in flux. For 2010, if your ex were to die this year, there is no inheritance tax. It is anticipated that next year the threshold at which the tax kicks in is where his estate exceeds one million dollars. He has a personal exemption under that amount, so if he passes away owning less, there likely will be no tax. You may wish to consult your tax preparer over time, as this law is constantly changing and it seems Congress has not really decided just where it is to go over the next few years.
