Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Nevada
My mother lives in California and I live in Nevada. My mother recently passed away and only has a bank account with funds about $200,000. She owns no real estate or other assets. My question is this: Do I need a probate lawyer to handle the release of her funds to me, and, if I do, do I need a probate lawyer in California or can a probate lawyer in Nevada handle the release of funds for me?

Unless her bank account was a transfer on death type account you will need a probate attorney in California to administer her estate.
