Legal Question in Workers Comp in Nevada
lumbar/thoracic injury from work
My husband's w/c attorney admitted to me last week that she did not protect his appeal rights to repair a (major) hernia that developed during his ordeal since 5/31/2005.
There are six issues that were supposed to be resolved April/May that we have never seen any orders on. Issues were put back on calendar for 10/22/08. Day before, opp. atty wanted to talk settlement. I objected to giving up the rehearing. Our atty. told us not to go. Two weeks tomorrow and we still have no information from appeals. Understand attys required to call court 10/30 to advise of status, etc.
Husband was sent final permanent partial disability award to sign 11/1. If he signs, does that negate any other issues/orders?
There are a few health problems husband has developed due to length of time on pain meds. Rating doctor mentioned these issues.

Re: lumbar/thoracic injury from work
Accepting of a permanent partial disability award is the final resolution of your work comp case and renders all other potential/pending issues pertaining to your case moot with the exception of any potential vocational rehabilitation entitlement.
