Legal Question in Workers Comp in Nevada

U.S. resident

I work permanently for an american

employer with american payroll. I

was sent on a 2 month job to Brazil

and had a bad work accident.

I am not a U.S citizen or Resident.

I had an accident and left disabled.

can i claim U.S. workers comp from

the state my employers company is

based?

In Nevada, your citizenship does not mean you can't qualify for workers compensation benefits generally, you just don't qualify for all potential benefits.

It will be up to your company and how they handle their work comp arising in foreign countries. Presumably, if you are based out of Nevada you can make a claim with your employer's Nevada work comp carrier to see if they accept your claim. Does your company have a policy in place for work injuries which occur on non-US soil?
