Legal Question in Business Law in New Hampshire
My business partner is guilty of embezzlement and grand larceny, I think, what do you lawyers think? He has pocketed upwards of $75000-100000 of my money by cutting himself checks that he should not have and wrongfully using the company credit card for tens of thousands of personal purchases.
Can I have criminal charges pressed against him as well as sue him in civil court?
1 Answer from Attorneys
It will all depend on evidence. The Police and District Attorney will choose whether or not to pursue criminal charges upon you making a report to them of the situation. You may sue in civil court regardless of whether or not this matter is pursued criminally. You will want to speak with an attorney to determine if this matter is going to be worth pursuing based on your evidence.
