Legal Question in Business Law in New Hampshire

We are just getting our business off the ground and customers are asking if we will ship items as a gift to avoid charges.

Since I am the one signing the certification that the particulars given in the customs declaration are correct, I have refused to do this, and have lost business because of it. Our goal is to provide the best products to our customers so that part does not bother me, but I have not been able to locate a specific regulation that states this.

I would like to post it on my site in the shipping area to avoid (most of) these questions in the future.

As a Franchise Attorney I must ask two things: (1) what is your question? (2) what do you mean by " customers are asking if we will ship items as a gift to avoid charges?" Try reposting with further detail incicated. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.

Are you selling the product and have control over the contents of the box? Are you a shipping company accepting the box from the customer with no knowledge of the contents? These are completely different situations and you need to speak with a local attorney to clear this up and to determine what is necessary to provide your business with reasonable legal protection.
