Legal Question in Business Law in New Hampshire
My husband and I bought a turn key business 7 years ago. We are equal partners in an S Corp. Over a year ago, husband told me he wanted a divorce, changed the locks on business, and moved all of our money to accounts with his name on it only. We were financially OK when this happened, but now I have learned that my husband has taken out thousands of dollars in loans without my knowledge, and he may have forged my name on them.
In the past year, I have had to borrow money from relatives to live, had to find another job and an apartment. He has not given me a dime in over a year, saying the business is losing money, and I would have no way of knowing because he will not let me see any records.
Also, He has two children from a previous relationship and he threatened to move them to a motel if i did not move out. Once I did move out, he proceeded to find himself an apartment, sold all of our belongings, and abandoned the house. I think it is in forclosure now.
Is there anything in court I can file on my own behalf to gain access to these financial records? I really feel that he is lying about money issues and/or has forged my name on loan documents.

As a Franchise Attorney I can say the short answer is yes, you can file appropriate documents with a court to obtain access to the financial records. But this is a process that requires an attorney. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
