Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New Hampshire

Police violating civil rights.

Four years ago my boyfriend murdered a 14 year old boy. After that I was assaulted and went to the police. I had an officer tell me in no way, shape or form were they going to help me because of my past acquaintances. I had nothing to do with the murder and even testified for the state. Four months after that statement was made to me, my apartment was broken into at 3:00 in the morning and I was raped. The next day I reluctantly went to the police. They supposedly investigated and the man was never charged. The only answer I got was that he passed a 4 question polygraph test. I had to move out of the state because I was not safe. I recently contacted the police department to get some answers. I have taped all of my conversations with them. You should hear their explanations. Ridiculous! I feel they violated my civil rights and would like them to answer for their actions. I would like to know if I have a case and where I can get help.

Contact the American Civil Liberties Union [ACLU]. Also contact your local bar association. Ask for a list of lawyers who represent injured people or cases involving violations of civil rights. Search the Net for members of the American Trial Lawyers Association. Good luck.
