Legal Question in Technology Law in New Hampshire

Internet Harassment

I have been playing an online game for sometime. My objective is to regularly defeat another group of players. Seven months ago I stopped playing.

I recently started playing again. Within a week of my arrival I made a YouTube video in character. Saying I'll defeat my rivals, I'm back, blah, blah. Since my return I've made no attempt other than the YouTube video to contact my rivals.

One individual in this group is claiming harassment against me. He's messaged me with insults and warning me never to contact him.

Seeing this as an attempt at getting the last word I message him back, informing him that I'm going to respond to any message that's aimed toward me. I send to both of his YouTube accounts to make sure he receives the message.

He replies to one of them claiming I'm harassing him and that if I do not stop, he's going to ''contact my local law enforcement agency.''

I made no attempt to contact him after that. A day later he logs into his second YouTube account and sees the duplicate message. He informs me ''to cease and desist'' and that he is currently forwarding this information, and everything else he's collected on me to my local law enforcement organization.

Does he have a harassment case?

Re: Internet Harassment

From the information given, it does not prima facie constitute harassment. However, you need to consult your local attorney for further recourse.

The best way for you is to, inform that person, that you never intend to haress him. Nor that you have done any act that would constitute haressment for him.

So try to negotiate first. Otherwise Law is always there to your rescue.
