Legal Question in Technology Law in New Hampshire
privacy on a shared email account
For the past few months, my husband has been sending indiscreet emails to 'another woman'. The internet/email account is in my name and the email address includes all occupants of our home. As I am the computer geek of the family, I have always been responsible for cleaning out the email software which necessitates opening and viewing/reading emails that I did not write, to determine whether or not they should be deleted. Am I doing anything illegal?

Re: privacy on a shared email account
Probably not. Especially since the account is in your name, and you have routinely used it and read all entries in the past, I cannot see how your husband could have any reasonable expectation of privacy in it.
