Legal Question in Construction Law in New Hampshire
defendant attorney requests documments for purpose of setllement
I am the plaintiff against a contractor whose workmanship lead to multiple repairs costing me over $30,000. I have sued pro se with notice to attach with under the consumer protection law 358A in superior court. Defendant counsel is saying they are willing to settle, but has requested my doccumentation to proove expenditures. How will this impact my case and do I have to provide him with this information? How much information is too much or too little?

You need to review the Rules of Superior Court pertaining to discovery. Failure to provide required or properly requested data may result in sactions and, in certain cases, a dismissal of your claim.
As a practical matter, before anyone will settle they need to be sure that your numbers are accurate and you should provide adequate proof.
You might benefit from a review of your case with an attorney who can examine the status of the pleadings an perhaps help you to move the matter toward conclusion.
