Theft of misc items from vehicle on property of dealership

I had my vehicle towed to a car dealership to have engine work done and when I went to pay them I discovered my car stereo, cd's and other misc. items stolen....the car was unlocked in the dealership parking lot....is the dealership responsible for the items stolen??

Possibly. Speak to the manager & see what he will do to compensate you. In theory, once the car is on their property with their other cars, they need to provide some security.

Need additional facts but generally the dealer would have to take some reasonable steps to protect your car. Would be nice to know if this is common and exactly what procedures they employ to make sure the interior of the car is locked when not being serviced.

Likely, the dealer has insurance and might be willing to settle with you.
