Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Hampshire

Co-signer's rights on delinquent auto loan

I co-signed on an auto loan for my stepson. He

has since moved to Montana (with the car), and

has stopped making payments. He doesn't return

my calls. Is there a way to get the car back so it

won't get repossessed and hurt my credit?

Re: Co-signer's rights on delinquent auto loan

The creditor is going to take the easy road and make you pay rather than chase your stepson. You can then go after your stepson if you can find him.

Never co-sign unless you are willing and able to pay the full debt.
