Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Hampshire

Judgement enforcement

When a judgement is ruled through district court. What do they do? I have no assets and i have no money to pay the creditors. How long does judgement stay on record. And what is the recourse, i.e. summons, jail, what next?

Re: Judgement enforcement

Hi -

The next step will be for the "judgment creditor" (the person or business which won the judgment) to file a Motion for Periodic Payments in that district court or another district court (if you move around).

During that proceeding, the Court will have you complete a financial affidavit and will then make a determination as to how much you can afford to pay - and you'll be placed on a payment system. Unless you have enough to pay the entire judgment, in which case you'll be required to pay the judgment outright.

I hope this helps -
