what happens if a parent dies and has uncollected debts?

If her estate has sufficient assets and or funds, the bills are suppose to be paid.

I thought you were referring to bills that were owed but if someone owed your mother money it is still collectible assuming that you have paperwork to prove the debt and there is nothing in the paper work that shows the debt forgiven upon death.
