Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Hampshire

is a verbal agreement binding

loaned someone money and both verbally agreed it would be repaid..have no contract..is the verbal agreement legal enough for me to get money returned

ALways best to either get in writing (Signed IOU with date and repayment date) but if not CONFIRM in writing (memo or email) and make demand in writing.
