Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Hampshire

argument turned into fight. he threw first punch that landed and knocked my glasses off which left marks and he threw a glass. then i punched like 5x's then it got broken up. Witnesses claim they saw nothing. then he filed police report against me. The police have yet to hear my side I have made many attempts and also stopped by the station in which they recommended I speak to the officer handling the case. This happened at work. Also heard he wants money and an apology. What's next.

If you can claim mutual combat, the assault is just a violation. the relevant statute is RSA 631:2-a, I(a). "Simple assault is a misdemeanor unless committed in a fight entered into by mutual consent, in which case it is a violation.
