Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Hampshire
If I was arrested and refused my right to have a lawyer because I did not understand what I was doing, how will that affect the rest of the legal process?

Any statement you made can be used against you. Depending on the circumstances, a motion to suppress your statements may be appropriate. If the motion was allowed by the judge then the fact that you waived your right to an attorney would be harmless.
