Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Hampshire
DWI First Offence/Pleading at Arraignment
I am considering pleading guilty to a DWI charge at my arraignment. I did fail the field sobriety test and refused the breathizer test. I was pulled over for "stratling the double line" in the middle of the road, and irratic driving.(less than 1/2 mile from my home). Whats the worse thing that could happen? I would like to put this unfortunate experience behind me--but fear "honesty" may not be the best policy.

Re: DWI First Offence/Pleading at Arraignment
I am not licensed in your state and am only licensed in Montana. I cannot give you advice about the laws in your state. Generally, it is not a good idea to plead guilty at the arraignment. Your right to remain silent is important and an exercise of that right is not dishonesty. I suggest you contact an experienced DUI defense attorney familiar with the laws of your state. Many of these cases can be successfully defended. Good Luck!
