Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Hampshire

Fake IDs

A friend of mine was found at our college to be in possesion of a fake ID, the campus police said it would stay on the campus and wouldn't go to the real police, now he recentley recieved a letter saying his license is indefintely suspended pending a hearing. He never once used the ID and just had it because someone made it for him for free. He was also on probation for a party at his house in December. I am wondering what the ramifications will be for him?

Re: Fake IDs

He could potentially be charged with a Felony, however the suspension is treated diffrently from a criminal case and he should hire an attorney to represent him in this hearing to get his driving privileges back...

Overally, if he is on probation... any violation for probation is treated very seriously, it may end up being treated more seriously than the crime committed ... regardless, of it was used or not - the posession of the ID is a crime...

he should seek to hire an attorney ASAP
