Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Hampshire
Resisting Arrest jail time?
I'm currently a college student and Saturday night a few friends and I went downtown for drinks. Once one of my roommates had enough i offered to walk him home. On our way out the door apparently a state trooper spotted us and called it in to the local police. When they arrived they talked to us and told us we must leave the side walk. Since I was intoxicated I was arguing with them. Eventually they took me under arrest. I was charged with Disorderly conduct which I can see why, but they also charged me with resisting arrest. A few of my friends that witnessed the even said that I did nothing physical that they would see would be resisting arrest, all though I did make verbal complaints. My question is I've heard this is a serious charge, am I possibly facing jail time or a fine?
