This type of hearing can mean different things in different courts. Typically, though, the purpose of the hearing is for the lawyers to report to the court about whether the case is likely to be a trial or plea bargain, what motions will be filed, whether there is any discovery outstanding (this means evidence to be turned over), etc. In some courts the defendant is required to appear, in others only the lawyers.

I'm assuming from your question that you are in superior court, meaning you must have a lawyer representing you. I would speak with that lawyer about what to expect at this hearing.

Good luck.
