Legal Question in DUI Law in New Hampshire

2nd DUI in under 10 years

I was pulled over, took breathalizer, it was .22 which caused an aggravated DUI in NH. This is my second DUI, first was in ME 9 1/2 years ago.

Do I need to hire an attorney or can I use a court appointed attorney as I cannot afford to hire one at $4,000.

Will a court appointed attorney help me in any way?

I am not sure which way to turn.

What kind of punishment can I expect? Thanks

You are facing a very serious charge. If you can not afford an attorney, the court will appoint one. However, this ususally requires that you make arrangements to reimburse the State for the cost of the attorney. Many court appointed attorneys are quite experienced. You should meeet with the attorney and determine if he or she is suitable for your situation. You are facing a multi-year loss of license, significant fines and the potential for incarceration.
