Legal Question in DUI Law in New Hampshire

I went to my DWI in New Hampshire court date and I have to take alcohol classes which I will be taking. I am from out of state- Massachusetts and I got arrested when I was in college at UNH on September. They have a Department of Safety Bureau of Hearings for license suspension and such. I do not plan on driving nor do I have a car and will accept the license suspension. I just do not have reliable transportation to get up to New Hampshire since my father cannot take time off of work. If I dont show to the hearing, what will be the consequence? I know It will be a default judgement but are there any consequence if I dont appear besides license suspension?

You can waive the ALS hearing and just take the suspension. Actually, you usually need to specifically request an ALS hearing if you want one. Long story short, you probably do not need to attend this hearing, but, you should alert them that you are going to waive the ALS and take the suspension so as not to cause additional trouble. Again, since we do not know all the specifics of your situation, this is legal information only and not specific "legal advice."
