Legal Question in DUI Law in New Hampshire

I received a citation for DUI in New Hampshire 25 years ago. I have been living in Florida and receiveng a Florida drivers license for the past 20 years, until this year when I was told my license was suspended for the DUI.

New Hampshire states that I must go back there and answer to the DUI charge even though its been 25 years and the citing officer has been retired for many years.

Isn't there a way I can handle this here rather then travelling to New Hamshire which I can't afford?

If you received correspondence from New Hampshire, then you need to follow those instrucitons. If your communication came from the State of Florida, then you may wish to discuss the matter with the New Hampshire authorities who may be contacted at

Department of Safety

Division of Motor Vehicles

Driver Licensing

23 Hazen Drive

Concord NH 03305

(603)271-2371

Unfortunately, you may be required to come to New Hampshire if they won't handle the matter by mail.
