Legal Question in DUI Law in New Hampshire
Sealed files
I had a '95' mistameanor arrest (dui)(plead guilty) and the judge said that after 7 years my file would be sealed (if I had no other trouble, and I have not). My question is what does a sealed file really mean. I have since worked for the DOD and other secure locations. If someone checks my background OR perhaps a traffic stop, so I am wondering what comes back to the person checking and what does it mean to have a 'file sealed'?

Re: Sealed files
In MA, when a record is "sealed" a CORI check will show that the record is sealed. It actually says that. It may leave the person to wonder what it was that was there before sealing it. It does allow you to leaglly state that you have no record, but the checker will see the sealed designation.
