Legal Question in Education Law in New Hampshire
rights for non-minority students enrolled in a public school
I would like to know what rights an 18 year old does and does not have in a public high school that are different from younger students. Specifically, since they are no longer minors is the school still responsible for the student? Is the student legally allowed to sign out or into school, can the student legally leave school grounds without parental permission? I want to know what exactly are the legal rights of an 18 year old on school grounds.

Re: rights for non-minority students enrolled in a public school
You would have to check the laws in your state. I am located in california. Here there is mandatory attendance form 6-18 years old. At 18 a student can sign themselves out and quit school without parental permission. An 18 year old is held responsible for their own actions.
I'm sorry I couldn't be specific to your state. It should be easy to look it up on the internet, or call your state department of educaiton and ask for the education code pertaining to your inquiry.
