Legal Question in Elder Law in New Hampshire
mother
my mother is 93 and lives by herself. She cannot drive any longer but can take care of herself. If she should have to move into an assistant living setting could she put her property in trust with our names so that the state could not take it if she passes away.

Re: mother
Your mother needs the assistance of an elder Law Specialist. Due to her age, the lieklihood that she will need assisted living is increasing rapidly, however, she has waited until the last minute to start planning her estate; the look back period for most transfers now will be 60 months from the date she applies for state assistance to pay for her nursing home costs (unless she has adequate medical insurance to cover those 60 months).
