Legal Question in Family Law in New Hampshire

I am a 21 year old college student at Dartmouth. I am currently pregnant with a 28 year old man's baby. He lives in Canada and refuses to support me in any way. He is a professional skier and is a two time Olympian. He is about to do the World Cup circuit this year and will be spending around 60 thousand dollars out of his own pocket to fund this. None of this money will be used for the health of his unborn child. Is there anything I can do legally at this point? Is it necessary/moral for me to do anything. He has already signed documents stating he is the father.

Your best bet would be to contact the local Division of Child Support Service office in your area. You should go to the NH Dept. of Health and Human Services website and click on "child support." Contact info can be found there. If you apply for DCSS services, they can attempt to obtain a NH court order for child support for you and hopefully assist you in the international collection of the support with Canada. At the very least, having a NH order is important because if he does not pay support, it can affect his passport in the US and from traveling into and out of the US. To start the process, you should make an appointment with a DCSS representative in your area.
