The best way to approach this situation is to obtain full cooperation of all parties. Your EX will need to agree to a Termination of his parental rights. This process would be connected to the adoption where you and your current husband would adopt your daughter. Without the consent and active participation of her father, the process would be more complex and the results not certain. You should sit down with an attorney to review the process and issues that need to be addressed to move forward.
